Woolx Ella Tank Review

Posted on

If you haven’t worn wool in the summer, you’re missing out. It quickly wicks away moisture and does a great job with temperature regulation on a warm day. The Ella Tank Top by Woolx is no exception to these great qualities.

Wool has so many great features and the natural antimicrobial properties are high on that list. After a hot day outdoors, you can leave this tank on and go grab a beer with friends without worrying that your tank will be stinky. Bonus points, it has a flattering fit that can easily go from trail to town. I spent multiple days in a row camping in the Ella Tank and it never got super smelly.

This is the second Woolx product I’ve tested and the results are similarly impressive when it comes to just how soft and durable this top is. It’s not at all itchy—even after multiple days wearing it. And with as much as I’ve worn it, I’ve put it through many washes (usually because it was dirty, not because it smelled) and it continues to hold it’s shape.

If anything, the Ella Tank runs just a little big. I always fall between a small and a medium, so I opted for the medium, because I like my clothing to be loose fitting around my stomach. The medium fit nicely around my stomach, but was a tad too loose on the top. I wouldn’t have minded the fit in the top if the tank had just a tad higher neckline. The only thing I’d change about this top is to add a little extra coverage around the neckline. I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing the Ella Tank to a yoga class and hanging out in downward dog. Don’t let this discourage you—maybe it’s just personal preference or maybe a size smaller would solve this issue.

If you are looking for a versatile wool top to include in your summer wardrobe, this is a good pick. I used it as a comfortable baselayer piece on chilly mountain mornings, paddled on mountain rivers, ran with it when temperatures were in the high 90’s, wore it to the climbing gym, and it even became one of my favorite soft shirts to fall asleep in on a hot summer night, camping.
