Sherpa Adventure Gear Pemba Jacket Review

There are a lot of fleece jackets out there. So why not choose one from a brand that’s not only making great gear, but doing good things for people—that’s exactly why we like Sherpa Adventure Gear. They’re goal is to “provide economic and social stability to the people of Nepal through steady employment, quality working conditions and educational opportunities for future generations.” They’ve created over 1,500 jobs for people in Nepal since 2008.

The Pemba Jacket from Sherpa Adventure Gear is a great fleece option, with small details that show Sherpa Adventure Gear’s attention to detail. The jacket is made of 100% polyester sweater knit fleece that has a soft and cozy interior lining. It has two soft-lined zippered hand warmer pockets and on the interior of the jacket, one small zippered pocket (too small for a phone) and two large sleeved pockets. It contains ports and access points for media devices, including a cord guide in the collar.

It comes in four heathered color options and the fit feels true to size. I usually wear a medium and that’s what size I tested. The length is a little longer fit, which is great for cold days when you want as much coverage from the elements as possible. The fit isn’t boxy, so it looks great as an outwear piece.

This fleece jacket is a little too heavy for serious aerobic pursuits, but for inbound ski days, belaying at the crag, or sitting around the campfire with friends, it’s just right.
