A review of the MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

PROS – This is a fast and light backpacking stove.  It boils water very fast (one liter in about 3.5 minutes) and is very light.  This is a great stove for trip where there is only 1-3 people.  I am a big fan on the 80/20 blend of isobutane and propane fuel because its so clean and has no way to leak out into your pack like liquid fuel possible could.  It is so stinking small.  And like some other stoves there is no need for priming, pressurizing, or maintenance.

CONS – You got to be careful where you cook on it because its so small the base can be unstable when boiling water.  The base is only the fuel canister so be careful.  Also the cooking area is small and requires smaller pots. You can cook on it with larger pots but they will not sit on top of the cooking area very easy.  Small pots are recommended.
